Released a few months ago on the American label Desolation House (Relapse/Release Entertainment sub label), 'Covered in Scars' is the debut album of Jonathan Paul Canady's newest project called Angel Of Decay. Some of you will have already heard of this person, active for a long time, behind several projects such as (the defunct) Dead World and (the power electronics) Deathpile...

The 8 tracks featuring of this cd were all composed with the use of 'vintage analogue keyboards and other out of date equipment using primitive methods' only. The result is a collection of dark and deathly ambient pieces (with occasional drones and a bit more noisier passages). Nothing revolutionary nor never experimented as a listener, but a production realised with care that works well and that should appeal to amateurs of dark ambient soundscapes.

As it is already the case with the six previous releases on Desolation House, 'Covered in Scars' comes in a 3-pannels deluxe digipack (including lyric sheet) served by John Bergin's impressive artwork and illustrations. This edition is limited to 1000 copies.
