Certainly in Gowan Ring's best album to date. Even if "The glinting Spade" was an excellent album, "Hazel Steps..." has seen the lights of heaven. A very quiet music, with acoustic guitar, folk and psychedelic feelings, simple and charming melodies, that goes beyond any styles and influences. There are also Annabel Lee and Michael Moynihan as guests, which gives a special atmosphere to the whole album. The special edition comes in a special home-made packaging. A music that will never get old. B'eirth goes deeper and deeper into a direction that brings him closer to all genious folk musicians that appeared in the sixties and the seventies, but with a very special and personal approach, which brings his music so unique. A must for all Current 93, Sol Invictus and Backworld fans.
